The Australian Cattle breed is also called Blue Heeler, Australian Heeler, Hall's Heeler or Queensland Heeler. A sturdy, compact and muscular dog, this breed has great strength, agility and endurance.

AKC Breed Group: Herding.

Breed Weight: 35 - 45 lbs.

Breed Height: 17 - 20 inches.

Color(s): blue, blue-mottled with or without markings and red speckle. Puppies are white.

Coat: smooth, double-coated with short dense undercoat.

Characteristics and temperaments: Australian Cattle breed is loyal and protective and has a guardian instinct. The dogs are hard workers and require obedience training to properly socialize with other dogs and children.

Care: This breed sheds the coats once or twice per year and require very little grooming because of its short hair.

Training and activity: Training Australian Cattles require patience because they are independent. They need a lot of exercise and may not be suitable if you can't commit to this.
