Bloodhound Breed Information

The Bloodhound breed is large, powerful but lovable hound. This is probably one of the most affectionate and kindest of all dogs. Excellent with children and other people, even unwanted strangers, he is not suitable as a watch dog.

Color(s): black and tan, liver and tan, red.
Coat: short and smooth; sometimes a small amount of whie on the chest, feet and tip of the tail.
Characteristics and temperaments: Bloodhound is willing to please his owner and even let children hurt him. But this breed is very energetic, determined and independent. He is a great family dog which can get along with other animals in the house. Very good in tracking scent, he frequently contributes to rescue and criminal arrests.
Care: The short hair is easy to groom, also keep the ears clean.
Training and activity: Training Bloodhounds requires consistency and patience, because they are independence to a certain extent. As a great hound, he can walk miles and loves to get involve in hunting and other hard working job.
