The Cardigan Welsh Corgi breed has a pair of large and erect ears, long in proportion to height, high speed and endurance. Albeit its relatively small size, he is powerful and protective. The dog is willing to please and can get along well with children.

Breed Height: 10 - 13 inches.

Color(s): sable, red and brindle, blue merle, black, black and tan, black and brindle; white markings on neck, legs, muzle, etc.

Coat: double-coated; medium length. Outer-coat is harsh, wiry and silky. Undercoat is soft and dense.

Characteristics and temperaments: The Cardigan Welsh Corgi is intelligent, protective and robust. He is reserved toward strangers but devoted his family. The breed makes a fine guard.

Care: The medium-length silky and water resistant coat is easty to groom. Bathe only when necessary. Comb and brush regularly to keep the coat in a good shape.

Training and activity: As an active dog, he must have regular exercise. Even in a closed environment like apartment, he is active indoors, so a yard may not be necessary. It is best to get him involve in training as soon as possible to prevent dominance. A dominant Corgi tries to herd people by nipping at their heels.
