The Chihuahua breed is a tiny and adorable dog. He is suitable for apartment life and live indoor. Most recognized features are apple-shaped head, large and erect ears, and round eyes. He makes a good companion dog and can become very attached to his owner.

Characteristics and temperaments: Although tiny, Chihuahuas can be alert and brave at times. This breed is probably not suitable for children as he may nip to defense himself. Properly socialized, this dog makes a pleasant companion and can get along well with other pets and dogs, especially of the same breed.

Care: Claws must be trimmed regularly. Brush his coat gently, and bathe once a month. Check ears and teeth regularly.

Training and activity: Chihuahuas can be hard to train sometimes but basically he is intelligent and learn quickly. The dog must be socialized as a puppy to be friendly with strangers and other dogs. He may also snap at teasing children. He responds very well to positive reinforcement training.
