The Chinese Shar-Pei breed is an independent, square and compact dog. He has a unique look with loose skin and wrinkles. The dog may be cautious around other animals but not people. He also quickly bonds with his family.

AKC Breed Group: Non-sporting.

Breed Weight: 45 - 60 lbs.

Breed Height: 18 - 20 inches.

Color(s): any solid colors, sable.

Coat: harsh, straight and off standing.

Characteristics and temperaments: The Chinese Shar-Pei is intelligent, alert, and dignified. He may seem uninterested in strangers but extreme in devotion to his family. Sometimes he shows his dominance and disobedient.

Care: The wrinkles should be checked and cleaned regularly. The coat should be easy to groom with a brush.

Training and activity: Sharpeis requires a lot of outdoor exercise to keep himself healthy. Being independence at times, he must be trained with by a firm and consistent owner. This dog sometimes fight with other dogs to show his dominance.
