English Springer Spaniel Breed Information

The English Springer Spaniel breed has compact body and docked tail. He is a medium-sized sporting dog compared to other breeds in the same group. The dog is intelligent, skillful and obedient. Never leave him alone for a long time as he dislikes it and tends to be destructive.

Breed Height: 18 - 21 inches.

Color(s): black or liver with white markings, blue or liver roan, tricolors (black, white or liver and white with tan markings).

Coat: Double coated; outercoat is longer, flat or a little bit wavy. Undercoat is short, dense and smooth.

Characteristics and temperaments: The English Springer Spaniel is friendly, sociable, obedient and a quick learner. He loves to wag his tail, showing his cheerful and loving nature. The dogs don't like to be leaved alone for too long.

Care: As he constantly sheds, you may want to pay a bit more attention to him related to the coat. Bath ony when necessary. Regular brushing keeps him looking good.

Training and activity: Although this breed can adapt well to the activity level of his family, he prefer to have the chance to run, retrieve and swim regularly. You can involve him obedience training because he is quite intelligent and willing to please.
