The German Shepherd is known for his nobility character, purpose and expression. The dogs are close to mankind and make great companion. He is strength, fearless, alert and curious. Trained firmly from early age, this dog excels in many dog activities like obedience, tracking, and sports.

Coat: double-coated; outer-coat is dense, straight, harsh and close to the body. Outer-coat is slightly wavy and wiry.

Characteristics and temperaments: The German Shepherd breed is fearless but not hostile. He shows his confidence in expression and posture. This dog gets along well with children and other animals, as long as proper socialization has taken place as a puppy.

Care: Seasonally heavy shedder, this breed requires quite a bit attention like daily brushing. Bathe only when necessary.

Training and activity: His intelligence, eagerness makes him stand out during training. The dog response quickly to trainer's voice. It is best if you can involve him with ample exercise which involve training, agility, obedience and tracking. Don't involve him with excessive exercise when young though to avoid damage to the growing bones and joints.
