The Greyhound breed is sweet, sensitive, brave and elegant dog. They bond strongly with their family but can be quite reserved with strangers. Although they are kind with children, they don't like rough-house play so you may not want to adopt a puppy unless you can be sure about this situation.

AKC Breed Group: Hounds.

Breed Weight: 60 - 70 lbs.

Breed Height: 27 - 30 inches.

Greyhound Breed

Color(s): immaterial, including almost all dog colors like black, gray, red, fawn; solid or with markings.

Coat: smooth, short-haired and close.

Characteristics and temperaments: Greyhounds are sociable, calm, loyal but can be willful at times. They love to chase anything that move fast, so it might not be good with cats. The dogs can be very inactive indoors but actually have geat stamina.

Care: The smooth, short-haired coat is easy to groom. As an average shedder, regular combing and brushing is enough.

Training and activity: This breed requires regular exercise outdoors to let him burn excessive stamina and energy. Regular long walk and run are recommended. Training should be fun because Greyhound is an intelligent breed. Care should be taken as he has definite prey instinct.
