Japanese Chin Breed Information

The Japanese Chin breed is small, active and happy animal. It is also referred to as the Japanese Spaniel. This dog is affectionate and extremely devoted to his master. Although this breed can get along pretty well with other dogs and household pets, it is best to have no children at home as the dog demands gentle handling.

Color(s): black and white, black and white with tans points, red and white.
Coat: Straight, silky and abundant.
Characteristics and temperaments: The Japanese Chin is charming, lively, pleasant and intelligent dog. They like attention from people around and can be independent. Being a good watchdog and excel in obedience and doing tricks are two characteristics. This dog doesn't bark often though.
Care: Brushing and combing regularly is enough. Ask for help from professional groomer to properly handle the coat. Bathe only when necessary.
Training and activity: The dogs enjoy every opportunity for long walks and play outdoors. They have their own mind so training should be consistent but should not be a problem. Favorite activities are running and playing, which show their energetic nature.
