The Keeshond breed is an affectionate well-balanced alert, intelligent and happy dog. The dogs get along very well with children, friendly, outgoing and loves everyone. They love attention and be a part of the family. This dog is suitable for apartment life.

AKC Breed Group: Non-sporting.

Breed Weight: 16 - 19 lbs.

Breed Height: 35 - 45 inches.

Keeshond Breed

Color(s): mixture of gray, black and cream.

Coat: abundant, straight, harsh and long hair. The outercoat is darker than the undercoat.

Characteristics and temperaments: The Keeshond is lively, alert, outgoing and very alert. He loves to be around people and generally good with other pets provided extensive socialization was done as a puppy. They bark at strangers, making them a good watchdog.

Care: Bathe or dry shampoo only when necessary. The dense coat is actually not very difficult to groom. Daily brushing of the coat is enough but important.

Training and activity: This breed adapts happily to the level of activity of the family members. Regular occasion to walk and play outdoors are best thought. This dog is fairly active indoors too. Patient and gentle are two keys to successfully training this breed.
