Lowchen Breed Information

The Lowchen breed is a lively, affectionate, intelligent and sociable dog. Thy have black nose, round and intelligent eyes. They are also referred as the Little Lion dogs. This breed makes an overall qualities of a loving companion dog.

Breed Height: 12 - 14 inches.

Color(s): any colors and combinations, but preferably white, black and lemon.

Coat: dense, long, moderately soft and wavy.

Characteristics and temperaments: The Lowchen breed is cheerful, lively, and eager. The dog is playful, robust, and tough, although it seems otherwise with his lion-like coat. They like to challenge other dogs and be top dog. They are also good with children and other dogs and non-canine pets.

Care: Regular combing and brushing should be done every other day. Professional grooming every two months is necessary.

Training and activity: The dogs can be strong-willed at times. They also like to challenge other dogs for leadership. This breed is quick learner though with their intelligence. Early training should prevent him from digging and barking too much. The dogs enjoy long walks and plenty of exercise, although they can also adapt to the level of exercise of your family members.
