The Mastiff breed is a massive, large, powerful, muscular yet gentle dog. They like to be around people. Adult dog can exceed 190 pounds, so you need to think about the room for him to move if you decide to adopt one. This dog is somewhat difficult to train and should be socialized to get along with other dogs.

Breed Height: 27.5 - 30 inches.

Mastiff Breed

Color(s): brindle, apricot, fawn with dark muzzle, ears and nose. Small white patch on the chest is permissible.

Coat: double-coated; outercoat is short, coarse and straight, undercoat is dense, close lying and also short.

Characteristics and temperaments: The Mastiff is a giant dog with gentle manner. They are self-condifent, alert and patient. The rarely barks but is also reliable as a watchdog and loyal companion. Mastiffs usually get along with children but should be socialized to live with other dogs. Never hit on him though.

Care: The short-haired coat is easy to groom. Bathe or dry shampoo only when necessary.

Training and activity: This breed should never be put off the leash in public area. They are somewhat hard to train and should be treated well. The dog grows rapidly and need his energy for development. As a result, this breed tends to be lazy. However, regular exercise keep him fitter and happier.
