The Neapolitan Mastiff breed is a powerful, muscular, massive and serious looking dog. They are loyal to his family and can be protective. They also make good watchdog. Female dogs are usually better with older children, as they can't stand teasing. Males can't get along with other males, but can live together with non-canine pets if properly socialized from puppyhood.

Coat: short, hard, dense, smooth and fine.

Characteristics and temperaments: The Neapolitan Mastiff breed is a loyal and watchful dog. They are intelligent and noble. They are fine with strangers as long as they are not threatened. Proper socialization is needed to overcome over-protectiveness. A Neo is probably not suitable for new dog owner.

Care: The short-haired dogs are easy to groom.

Training and activity: This giant dog needs a lot of energy to grow, but when he has grown up, he needs ample of exercise. Long walks twice daily is required. It is recommended to involve him with obedience training early in his life. Consistent, firm and calm handler wiill get the best results.
