After looking around, now you are ready to make your first post. Great! If you are new to this discussion board, these instructions will get your first post up in no time.
Tip: The easiest way to read these instructions while following them is by launhing another browser window.
The best place to start posting is the Welcome & Announcement >> Introduction forum. These instructions will help you accomplish exactly that:
- Go to the forums home page here: http://dogbreedweb.com/forum. The forums are also accessible by following the link at the top of every page.
- You may need to scroll down a bit to find the Introduction forum. It is part of the Welcome & Announcement section.
- Once you've found the forum, click the forum name to go there. In this case, the link address for the "Introduction" forum is: http://dogbreedweb.com/forum/32.
- After you've clicked on the link, you'll find yourself in the "Introduction" forum. You can always see where you are in the site and forum by referring to the top of the page, in the header just below the logo.
- The next step is to create a new topic. Click on Post new forum topic link. It is available just below the forum title.
- Enter the title into the Subject field. For example "Hi, I am Jeremy from New Jersey."
- The Forums drop down menu lists all the forums you can post to. Make sure it reads "Introduction," because you want to post there at this moment.
- Enter the body of your post. Tell us about yourself and your pet dog. This post is about introducing yourself and get us to know you.
- Once you've entered the body of your post, scroll down to find the Preview button. Click it to see how your post will look like when you submit it.
- Modify the subject and body fields until you are satisfied and then click Submit. Your introductory post will be submitted and published to the right forum.
That's it. You have just made your first post. It is now available for all forum members.
As you are exploring the forum, don't be afraid to try things. There is no way for you to "break" anything and you won't mess anything up. Just remember when you post, you select the right forum to post to and keep the message on topic.
Next, take a moment to read the Forum Rules to find out what is and is not ok to do.
