Norwich Terrier Breed Information

The Norwich Terrier breed is a short, sturdy, strong, active and courageous dog. This breed is one of the smallest of the working terriers. They make affectionate and loyal companion for children and other family members. The dog like to be around people. They were originally developed as a small ratting dog.

Color(s): wheaten, black and white, grizzle or all shades of red.
Coat: hard and wire-haired, shorter around the head and ears.
Characteristics and temperaments: The Norwich Terrier breed is affectionate, balanced and lively dog. They are fearless and get along quite well with children and also other dogs. They can be jealous at times. Good as a watchdog as the dog will announce visitors with barking. If you need an outgoing dog, this may be appropriate for you.
Care: The medium-length coat is easy to groom. Daily brushing and combing is required though.
Training and activity: This breed learns quickly so training should be fun. Sometimes this breed can be independent so it is best to have a firm and consistent handler. The dog will adapt to the activity level of his family. This breed loves to dig and appreciate the opportunities to do so.
