Not AKC Recognized Breeds

Simply said, "not AKC recognized" dog breed means that the breed that AKC does not register this breed in their system.
Hundreds of pure breeds are remain unrecognized by AKC up to now, of which sometimes they are referred to as rare breeds.
The process of recognition by AKC takes a long time and some club decide not to hand over their registries and keep them out of AKC.
Some pet lovers simply don't care about this fact and decide they only want their dog but not all the intricacies while others insist of knowing the ancestors and pedigrees. The task of the registry is to confirm that a dog is part of certain breed.
