The Otterhound breed is a strong, muscular, long-eared, dignify and bold and friendly dog. They get along with children, especially with older and considerate ones. It is best to have these dogs in an environment where they can get plenty of exercise.

Characteristics and temperaments: The Otterhound breed is an intelligent, affectionate and active dog. They love to be around people and like almost everyone, including other pets, children and household pets. This breed tend to be quite willful. He doesn't bark excessively but likes to bay.

Care: The rough coat should be combed and brushed at least weekly to prevent matting. This breed is an average shedder.

Training and activity: These dogs require patient, firm and consistent handler. They can be quite independent at times so expect this behavior to appear in training session. They are not the most obedient dogs. The dogs also need a lot of exercise and like the opportunity to run off the leash regularly. Provide safe environment for them to do so.
