The Parson Russell Terrier breed is a devoted, loving, lovable, perky, merry, alert and confident dog. This breed was formerly known as Jack Russell Terrier. They generally are kind to considerate children. Being obedient but slightly difficult to train, this dog is also playful and fearless. If you want adopt a puppy, prepare for his willfulness. You need to be firm and consistent in training.

Color(s): white, white with black or tan markings and tri-color.

Coat: smooth and broken, long-haired.

Characteristics and temperaments: The Parson Russell Terrier is intelligent but willful and determined. This breed does not get along with other dogs but early socialization can help to suppress this trait. They have strong hunting instinct. The dog is not suitable for first time dog owner, especially that who don't have prior experience with terriers.

Care: The coat are easy to groom. Regular brushing and combing is enough. Bathe only when necessary.

Training and activity: These dogs are energetic and tend to like exercise but they are also adaptable. They can exercise on their own provided there is enough outdoor and secure space. This breed also likes to run, jump play, hunt and climb. Being intelligent, spirited and obedient, this dog also willful and determined. Only experience trainer who is firm and consistent should train this little dog as he may dominate otherwise.
