The Pharaoh Hound breed is a powerful, agile, medium-sized, well-balanced and fast dog. They are relatively more inactive indoors and independent. The dogs can be aggressive and try to dominate other male dogs. As a good hunter, he should not be trusted with rabbits, cats and other small non-canine pets. This breed likes to chase things and can follow interesting scents.

Characteristics and temperaments: The Pharaoh Hound is a pleasing companion. They are calm, loyal, fearless and love to play. Socialization is needed at early age to avoid timidity. This breed gets along with other dogs and loves children, but treats strangers with reserve.

Care: Little grooming is needed because of the short hair. Remove dead and loose hair with a rubber brush. Bathe only when necessary.

Training and activity: These dogs like to run alongside bicycle regularly, but can also adapt to other less energetic activity like long walks. Consistent in training is required because of the dog's character. It can do well in competitive obedience though.
