Rhodesian Ridgeback Breed Information

The Rhodesian Ridgeback breed is a large, muscular, symmetrical, balance, and active hound dog. They are also calm, gentle, obedient and go-natured. Being loyal to the family but sometimes can have the mind of their own. This breed is fearless, some of them don't get along well with children and are quire reserved with strangers.

Color(s): light wheaten to red wheaten; white and chest and toes are permissible.
Coat: dense, short, sleek and glossy.
Characteristics and temperaments: The Rhodesian Ridgeback breed is vigilant, intelligent, and protective large dog. They make very good watch dogs. This breed needs to be involved in obedience training. Socialization with people and other dogs are required. Also they can be aggressive with other male dogs.
Care: The short coat is easy to groom. Brush regularly and bathe only when necessary.
Training and activity: This breed is energectic. They are tireless but can adapt to the activity level of the family members. They can be independence and stubborn at times, so the best approach to training is being consistent and firm. Regular outdoor activities are a must if you plan to adopt a puppy.
