Spinone Italiano Breed Information

The Spinone Italiano breed is a hard-working, sociable, patient, square build, strong-boned dog. They are intelligent, happy, pleasant and easy-going. This breed loves children who are more considerate and treat him with love. He likes to be around his family all the time.
AKC Breed Group: Sporting.
Breed Weight: 62 - 82 lbs.
Breed Height: 22.75 - 27.5 inches.

Color(s): white, white with orange or brown markings, speckled brown with or without larger brown markings.
Coat: rough, thick and flat.
Characteristics and temperaments: The Spinone Italiano is friendly, gentle, affectionate but a bit stubborn. They are generally quite, but may howl sometimes. Having a mind of their own, they must have a reason to do something. The large dog is capable of jumping high and not appropriate for apartment living, unless you are able to give him sufficient room and exercises.
Care: This breed is very easy to groom. Weekly brushing is all you need to keep to coat in top condition. Bathe as necessary.
Training and activity: These dogs are quite inactive indoors, but should be given enough exercise outdoors. This is a good breed for jogging companion. A small yard for them to move around, combined with walk and play sessions work best. This breed is not the most obedient dog, but should do well in training as long as you don't expect too much.
