Weimaraner Breed Information

The Weimaraner breed is a medium-sized, aristocratic, fast, alert, well-balanced and moderately large dog. They are affectionate, intelligent, willful, protective and cheerful. This breed is too energetic for small children and should not be trusted with small non-canine animals. The dog is brave and loyal and like to be around his family all the time.

Characteristics and temperaments: The Weimaraner breed is a loving, intelligent but willful dog. They are very protective to their own territory. This breed can get along well with children but probably too energetic for them. This breed likes to bark. They can be used for all kinds of hunting.
Care: The short coat is easy to keep in top condition. As an average shedder, brush with a firm bristle brush is necessary. Keep the nails trimmed.
Training and activity: These energetic and powerful working dogs demand plenty of exercises. Long walks and field sports are needed to make the dog happy and healthy. Short walks would not be sufficient. This breed is intelligent and learn quickly what is expected of it. Don't hit these dogs though, as they may become wary and impossible to train. A confident handler is required to dominate the dog.
