The Yorkshire Terrier breed is a neat, compact and well-proportioned dog. They are adventurous, energetic, brave, loyal and clever. This breed is affectionate with its master but sometimes suspicious of strangers. These dogs are good for apartment life. They are inactive indoors and will do okay without a yard.

Characteristics and temperaments: The Yorkshire Terrier breed is energetic, fearless and loyal to his family. They can get along with older and more considerate children. This breed can be stubborn at times. Overall, they make a sweet and loving companion but should not be over-teased or they may become snappish.

Care: Regular grooming is required. This breed sheds little to no hair.

Training and activity: These dogs are lively and will benefit from regular opportunities to run and play. Basically they don't need a lot of exercise though. They will adapt to the activity level of their family. This breed will learn quickly if training is consistent.
